French Quarter Festival gets fans ready for the BCS showdown
NEW ORLEANS, LA (FOX44) — Twenty-six hours away from kickoff to the biggest game in college football, and already thousands of Tiger fans are pouring in to New Orleans.
Today I rode the wave of purple and gold through the French Quarter, but maybe what's most surprising is that Alabama fans are not in hiding. You can find them, in big groups, roaming throughout New Orleans today.
But without a doubt, LSU outnumbered all others in New Orleans. A pep rally was held earlier inside the Allstate Fan Fest set up right next to Jackson Brewery. The Golden Band from Tiger Land was featured and played the Fight Song as they marched into Fan Fest.
Outside in the Quarter, once again, Louisiana showed off that it knows how to have a good time. A team of fans, posing as doctors, walked around pushing a gurney, and their patient was none other than a mannequin of Alabama Quarterback AJ McCarron.
"Got the team doctor here,” one fan said. “Taking AJ McCarron, team doc going take care of him, put a little French Quarter juice in him and he's going to be done for the night. Tiger's number one, two, three times in a row."
What he meant is that LSU will have beaten Nick Saban several times in a row with a victory Monday, and I can only guess what French Quarter juice is. Also, and I’m just assuming here, but maybe those fans had a drink or two during their day down in the Quarter. I could be wrong though.
