Frustrated fisherman take to the Capital
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Hundreds of shrimpers leaving the shore to head to the steps of the State Capital. Shrimpers from Venice to Grand Isle trying to get the attention of state lawmakers. They say the combination of a bad season and high gas prices is making it nearly impossible to do the only job they know.
They hope the rally gets the attention of the people who pay the claims - and the people who control shrimp prices.
Lawmakers took time out to address the group. they say they're working the governor jindal and bp to try and get them some answers.
