Organizers hope this year's Cannes Film Festival in France, will outshine last year's lackluster event.

Attached to many of the films is a celebrity a-list including names like Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Kirsten Dunst.

Last year, there weren't many appearances by international stars and many entries failed to impress the critics, or do well at the box office.
