Hit and run injures two; one in critical condition

THIS IS AN FOX44 NEWS UPDATE: The driver of the suspect vehicle, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself in to Baton Rouge Police Traffic Homicide Investigators today around 2:30 pm. Mark Almon, 21, of St. Gabriel, La. was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Jail with one count of Felony Hit and Run. On the advice of his attorney he declined to make any statements. The vehicle involved has been located as well.

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Baton Rouge Police report that two people are in the hospital after being run over in the early morning by a pickup truck.

Police say it happened around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. FOX44 News learned the individuals were run over while standing in the middle of East Boyd Street. The truck was leaving a nearby restaurant.

One of the victims is in critical condition. The other is stable.

Police say it's the second hit and run on the same stretch of road this year.
