HOLLYWOOD HOOKUP (FOX44) – British pop star Cheryl Cole is hopping across the pond for "The X Factor." FOX announced today that the singer will join Simon Cowell and LA Reid as a judge for the U.S. debut season. She’s done it for three year's on the U.K. version. One more judge has yet to be announced. "The X Factor" debuts here on FOX this fall.
– Actor Jackie Cooper has died at the age of 88. Cooper who reigned with Shirley Temple as one of the most popular child stars of the 1930's. He won a best actor Oscar nomination at the age of nine for "Skippy." He also appeared in eight of the "Our Gang" comedies. As an adult, Cooper played daily planet editor Perry White in four "Superman" movies with Christopher Reeves and directed all kinds of movies, TV series and commercials. According to one of his son's, Cooper died Tuesday of old age at a nursing facility in Santa Monica.
– As the bitter custody battle between Mel Gibson and his ex rages on, TMZ is reporting that Oxsana Grigorieva has dropped the claim that the actor threatened her with a gun and beat her during a fight last year. Sources say the couple just wants to get the children’s custody figured out as soon as possible.
