HOLLYWOOD HOOKUP (FOX44) – America is mourning the loss of a true icon today. Elizabeth Taylor died today, at the age of 79. Her publicist says the legendary actress died in a Los Angeles hospital from congestive heart failure. Taylor was surrounded by her children when she passed.
Her star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame has been polished and people left flowers there to pay tribute to the actress. The iconic star won two Academy Awards, was married eight times, and campaigned for AIDS awareness.
– Lindsay Lohan decided not to take the plea deal and is going to trial. The starlet is charged with stealing a $2,500 necklace from a California jewelry store in January. By going to trial, Lohan now faces jail and prison time, jail if a judge decides she's violated her probation and prison if she is convicted of grand theft.
– Rapper turned actor Ja Rule has pleaded guilty to tax evasion. Ja Rule, who's real name is Jeffrey Atkins, admitted to not paying taxes on more than three-million dollars between 2004 and 2006. As part of the agreement, prosecutors dropped charges related to unpaid taxes in 2007 and 2008. He’ll be sentenced in June.
– Howard Stern is suing Sirius XM radio. He claims subscriptions are up and he hasn't gotten the bonuses that he was promised. A spokesman for Sirius XM hasn't commented on the lawsuit.
– Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is a big winner in Vegas. He tweeted a picture of a betting slip from the M Resort. Showing he won over $37-thousand dollars by picking the Bulls over the Atlanta Hawks. Guess that’s' why his nickname is "Money."
