Hollywood Hookup: Elizabeth Taylor's wax on display
HOLLYWOOD HOOKUP (FOX44) – As America continues to morn Elizabeth Taylor’s death, Madam Tussauds wax museum in Hollywood has put her wax figure back on display. It’s a very expensive piece valued at 300-thousand dollars. The Cleopatra Liz will remain on the floor through Sunday evening.
– Jury selection went underway today in the trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor. Conrad Murray arrived for court today in Los Angeles. He’ll watch as up to 350 jurors are screened. Murray is charged in connection with the death of Jackson back in 2009. He’s accused of giving the king of pop a deadly amount of the drug Propofol right before he died.
– They say bad things happen in threes, and Zsa Zsa Gabor says quote "Jane Russell, Liz Taylor, I’m next." The 94-year old is so shocked by Taylor’s death. Her publicist says her blood pressure went up and she had to go to the hospital. Gabor has been in poor health and part of her right leg was amputated back in January.
– Happy birthday, Harry Houdini! That is if the magician and escape artist were still alive. He would have been 137-years old. He was born in 1874 in Hungary and died in 1926 at the age of 52, from a ruptured appendix. They say the rupture was caused by a college student who tested his indestructible abs with a very strong punch.
