Hollywood Hookup: Gilbert Gottfried fired from Aflac

Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 4:42pm

HOLLYWOOD HOOKUP (FOX44) – The Insurance Company, Aflac, has announced yesterday that they fired Gilbert Gottfried. Gottfried is the guy who voices the duck in their U.S. commercials. Aflac says this comes after he posted a string of tasteless tweets about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan over the weekend. Something that's particularly problematic, considering Aflac does 75% of its business in Japan.

-The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored five legendary rockers at a ceremony last night in New York. Neil Diamond lead the pack of this years inductees. "Well it’s the epitome of being in rock and roll, its the peak, its the top, its the best.”

Alice Cooper, Darlene Love, Leon Russell, Tom Waits, and Dr. John rounded out the rest of the 2011 inductees. Cooper arrived with that signature snake around his shoulders. "You know, I can't imagine rock and roll without edge to it, you know and were never going to outgrow that for some reason.” The induction ceremony will air on Fuse March 20.

-Snookie is putting those fist pumping moves to good use. The “Jersey Shore” star made her wrestling debut on WWE Monday night raw. 57 inches of rage attacking members of the "Lay-Cool" lady tag team, and this fight is far from over... Snookie was challenged to a three on three co-ed brawl at Wrestlemania in April.
