BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - Hornets fans can't really complain about their day Monday. First, the announcement was made that the team will remain in New Orleans for at least one more season. Then hours later forward David West hit a game-winning jump shot with just .5 seconds remaining to give the Hornets the 91-89 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The victory made it nine in a row for the NBA's best defensive team. The Hornets lead the league in points allowed per game by holding opponents to 91 points a contest.

Chris Paul led the Bees in scoring with 24 points. David West added 20 points of his own. Baton Rouge native Marcus Thornton continued to provide a spark off the bench by scoring 10 points.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder by scoring 22 points in the losing effort.

New Orleans (30-16) hopes to make it 10 straight wins on Wednesday when they take on Golden State.
