GONZALES, LA (FOX44) - Louisiana State Troopers said a Houston man was killed at a Gonzales intersection early Saturday morning.

They said the accident happened around 2:30 am.

Troopers say a truck was travelling west on Highway 30 when Christian Salinas, 32, stepped into its path.

They say the driver, Aaron Dunbar, 41, tried to avoid hitting Salinas, but was unable to save him.

After the initial collision, the Dunbar stopped and called Police.

Dunbar voluntarily submitted to a Field Sobriety Test, and Troopers sent a sample of Dunbar's blood to the Louisiana State Crime lab for analysis, but do not suspect Dunbar was drinking.

Police say this is the third fatal accident in the Troop A area in less than a week.
