If deficit deal isn't made, some Americans may suffer

NATIONAL (FOX44) - Millions of Americans may not get their Social Security checks next month.
President Obama says if lawmakers fail to reach a deficit deal, and America defaults on its loans on August 2nd, some 70 million Americans who rely on disability, veterans, and social security payments, may not get their money.

A top Republican offers up a controversial "last-choice option" to end the stalemate.

One that would allow the President to request debt ceiling increases in three stages up to 2-and-a-half trillion dollars.

He'd also have to submit offsetting spending cuts at the same time.

The Mcconnell Plan was highly criticized by Tea Party conservatives, and many say it would likely not pass the house
