BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Governor Jindal is defending his reform plan after taking heat from some union leaders.
After having lunch with some parents today, Jindal spoke from the Governor's mansion, saying for too long, union bureaucrats have defended the status quo of failing schools in our state.
He says his new plan gives parents the options that they deserve over their children's education.
"They say nobody knows their children like they do. They say they make choices for their child every day,” stated Jindal. “They say they absolutely want to make choices about where their children go to school."
Jindal released his education plan last week that would allow more children state money to attend better-performing schools.
