Juveniles arrested for vandalism of Pierre Part Schools
PIERRE PART, LA ( ASSUMPTION PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE) - On Sunday June 26, 2011 around 8a.m., A deputy, while on routine patrol performed a security check of the Pierre Part Schools’ (Pierre Part Primary and Pierre Part Middle Schools) grounds.
The deputy located an unlocked door and notified a key holder. Once the key holder arrived they discovered that vandals had entered the school.
The suspects entered the gym area where they threw food on the floor and road bikes. They also entered the science lab where they began to mixing chemicals together. They also found MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) packages and attempted to create “MRE Bombs”.
One suspect also was using hair spray and a cigarette lighter as a flame thrower. Finally, the suspects entered another classroom and urinated on some of the electronics (computer and printer).
After reviewing surveillance tapes, three male juveniles were identified as students of the school and were later located at their respective homes where they were questioned by detectives and charged accordingly.
The 12 and 13 year old male suspects were charged with 2 counts of institutional vandalism and 2 counts of simple burglary. The 14 year old male suspect was charged with criminal trespassing.
All Juveniles were booked and released to their parents. The School System is in the process of determining the monetary value of the damage and clean up costs.
