Krotz Springs inmates, dispatcher arrested on burglary charges
KROTZ SPRINGS, La (FOX44) — The evidence room at the Krotz Springs police department was allegedly broken into by a pair on inmates. We’re told back on June 5th Jessica Courville and Michael Stermer swiped drugs from that room. The pair was allegedly allowed to escape from their cells thanks to the 9-1-1 dispatcher Amanda Nall, who works at the jail. She allegedly let the pair out, and then turned off the lights so nobody could see what they were doing. Investigators say that after that the drugs were divided three ways and the room was resecured. All three face simple burglary charges, but Nall also faces malfeasance in office charges. We’re told another person could have been in on this crime. That’s why the case remains under investigation. We called the Krotz Springs police chief and he said he didn’t want to comment on the case.
