RESTON, Va (FOX44) - Sunday LADF Commisioner Mike Strain headed to the NASDA conference to improve the way the seafood and agricultural industries secure temporary foreign work for the US.
Strain is looking to streamline the hiring processes for foreign temporary workers to get hired in a timely manner.
The commissioner says that our seafood industry cannot fill the jobs locally in the time they have alotted by the government.
Strain will also seek support to increase the amount of time these industries will have to find local workers, and keep on temporary workers.
He is also looking to pre-process foreign workers for a five-year period.
