BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) — State lawmakers are working to amend a bill meant to help the families of two insurance fraud agents, gunned down tragically on the job. There is already a law provides monetary benefits for firefighters killed in the line of duty.
Now, lawmakers are re-writing the bill to include insurance fraud investigators and other state workers who put themselves in harms way on a regular basis.
The bill would allow the familes of Rhett Jeansonne and Kim Sedge to receive money from the state.
That bill is in draft form right now. It will discussed Saturday during the Senate Finance committee meeting.
