NEW YORK (FOX44) - The first lawsuit against New York's same sex marriage law was filed on July 25th. Only one day after wedding ceremonies throughout the state.
A "New Yorkers For Constitutional Freedoms" representative says that legislative procedures were violated when the bill was approved on June 24th.
The state court lawsuit claims the state senate restricted opposed lawmakers from speaking, and violated New York's open meetings law.
Lawsuits had been promised by opponents of the same sex marriage law.
