Local teen's bill change still alive in the Capitol
BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - After hours of debate and testimonies, a controversial bill inspired by a local teenager is still alive tonight.
We first told you about Zach Kopplin Wednesday, and Thursday, he was back at the State Capitol fighting to change Louisiana law.
Zach wants 'The Louisiana Science Education Act' to be repealed. The legislation allows creationism to be taught as science, in Louisiana public schools.
Zach's bill, SB-70 was introduced to the Senate Education Committee by Senator Karen Peterson.
The panel of legislators had strong opinions about the act, but in the end, they agreed to let it live another day.
