Louisiana ranked last in U.S. Peace Index
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Louisiana is the least peaceful state to live in. That's according to the US Peace Index .
This is the eleventh year in a row Louisiana ranked at the bottom of the list.
The US peace index rates states based on homicides per 100,000 people, and number of violent crimes.
Results show a dip in homicides and violent crimes across the country over the past year.
We hit the streets to see how safe local people feel in their communities.
"Yes, it's peaceful against some parts of Dade County, it's peaceful compared to the south side of Atlanta," said Billy Bell, a resident of East Baton Rouge.
