BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - It was another week and another dominating performance against a Southeastern Conference foe for the LSU football team. This time it was Auburn. The defending national champion Tigers couldn’t hang with the still unbeaten (8-0) Tigers on Saturday. LSU handed Auburn their third loss of the season, defeating them by a score of 45-10.

LSU was without three of their best players; running back Spencer Ware, cornerback Tharold Simon and cornerback/punt returner Tyrann Mathieu. That didn’t matter. If fact, their replacements stepped in and filled the holes nicely. Freshman running back Kenny Hilliard ran for 65 yards and two touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, senior cornerback Ron Brooks, intercepted a pass in the third quarter and returned it for a touchdown.

Quarterback Jarrett Lee continued his efficient play. The senior threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow quarterback Jordan Jefferson also threw a touchdown pass. Junior wide receiver Rueben Randle caught five passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
LSU is on a bye week. They will take on Alabama (5-0) November 5th in Tuscaloosa.
