LSU moves to 5th place in SEC
BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - LSU shook off a slow start and continued their dominance on the defensive end as they defeated Auburn 55-52 on Thursday. Katherine Graham scored a team high 18 points.
"When you shoot 20-something percent from the twos and 23 percent from the threes and you win a game, our defense has just been outstanding," said Head Coach Van Chancellor. "In the last seven games, if we would have shot (better), we'd be on a seven-game winning streak. Our problem is just making shots."
The Lady Tigers of LSU missed their first 11 shots. It wasn't until the 9:57 mark in the first half when LSU made their first field goal. In the second half it was a 21-5 run that helped LSU get the victory and move into fifth place in the SEC.
LSU (17-9, 7-5) now hits the road as they take on No. 15 Kentucky on Sunday.
