BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - Close but no cigar. With 10 seconds remaining in the game and LSU down by just one point, Andre Stringer had the ball knocked loose by Dee Bost as he attempted to get off the game winning shot.
"Andre has been in that situation before against Wichita St. and he will be put in that situation a lot more where he can lower his shoulder and get into position where he can make a play. Dee (Bost) did a good job," LSU head coach Trent Johnson said following the game.
Stringer led the Tigers with 15 points.
For Mississippi State, the ball bounced harmlessly towards half court as time expired. For LSU, it extends their current losing streak to six games.
LSU (10-13, 2-6 SEC) takes their six game losing streak on the road as they take on Ole Miss on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
