BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) — LSU is helping students get home for the holidays this year. The school will provide shuttle rides to both the Baton Rogue and New Orleans airports on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Students heading to New Orleans will have to pay $20 for a round trip. It's just $10 to take the shuttle to the Baton Rouge airport.
Student leaders expect more than 140 people to use the transportation system this year.
"We chose to do this because it really saves students a lot of money," says Brian Davis, the Student Government Director of Transportation. "You know, between gas going over there, parking going over there... Even if you don't have a car, you have to bum a ride from a friend. It makes it a lot easier on everybody."
Students can board the shuttles in the AgCenter parking lot. The buses to the Baton Rouge airport run every hour from 6am to 6pm. The one headed to New Orleans will be at LSU at 4am, 8am, noon, and 4pm.
