LSU softball heads back to College Station for NCAA regional
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - It was a déjà vu like moment for the LSU softball team as they learned they would travel to College Station, Texas for postseason play for the second straight year.
Head coach Beth Torina admits she was surprised that the NCAA sent her team to the same spot the Lady Tigers played the 2011 Regional.
Senior pitcher Brittany Mack says she wasn’t, “I’d heard rumors throughout the day. If we were going to A&M, Texas or ULL I wasn't going to be suprised.”
LSU will join host Texas A&M, Texas State and Bethune Cookman for the tournament that gets underway on Friday.
LSU will open up play at 3 p.m. against Texas State.
The Tigers have lost eight of their last ten games.
