BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - A tense morning on August 9th for some LSU students as they're forced out of their dorm rooms.
Its part of a full scale fire exercise on campus, and it involved the Red Cross, LSU's Emergency Operations Center, and fire fighters.
The drill included artificial smoke, evacuations, and search and rescue.
Officials tell us one of the goals of the drill is to enhance the table top exercises they do.
That while students involved say this drill wasn't like any other they've been in.
The drill lasted about four hours, and students were let back in to the dorm around noon.
