Lt. Governor asks BP for $75 million for state tourism campaign
Scott Angelle says perception studies show people are afraid to come to Bayou State
BATON ROUGE (WGMB) -- New studies show out of towners are afraid to visit Louisiana.
Lieutenant Governor Scott Angelle says the Crisis on the Coast coverage is to blame.
He says tourism is down in the Bayou State, and it's up to BP to help bring it back up.
Angelle is asking BP for $75 million.
The money would go toward campaigns to convince people to visit Louisiana.
Angelle says the push for Louisiana starts at home.
