Man busted for armed robbery after calling in fake wreck
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — The Assumption Parish Sheriff's office says they've arrested a man who held up the Cracker Barrel Convenience store in Pierre Part.
John Brouillette, Jr, 30, was arrested for busting into a convenience store wearing a face mask and carrying a handgun. Officials tell NBC33 News that the incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 2.
We’re told Brouillette got away with $75. Detectives say they were able to track him down because he made a call to 9-1-1 shortly before the robbery to make a false report about a car accident. The call was traced and brought investigators to the mobile home of Brouillette’s mother.
While investigators were at the Brouillette’s home, they detected the smell of marijuana. They were then allowed into the home and found the stolen cash and mask used during the robbery.
When questioned, Brouillette confessed to the robbery.
