HAMMOND, La (FOX44) — Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards has reported the death of aggravated burglary suspect.
On August 21, numerous deputies responded to an aggravated burglary in progress in Hammond.
Detectives learned that the suspect, later identified as Antoine Addison, 41, arrived at the victim’s residence and began to damage the exterior of the mobile home and a parked vehicle by smashing windows with a crowbar.
Addison then forced his way into the residence and attacked a male occupant with the crowbar. The robber then armed himself with a knife and attempting to stab the victim.
During this time, a female who was also occupying the residence, ran into the kitchen and armed herself with a large kitchen knife in defense of the victim; she repeatedly stabbed the attacker forcing him to retreat and flee from the residence. The suspect ran behind the residence and collapsed succumbing to his injuries.
The investigation also led detectives to a female subject Odell Pratt, 45. She allegedly drove Addison to the residence with the full knowledge of his intent of committing the crime.
Pratt was charged with Principle to Aggravated Burglary and Principle to Attempted First Degree Murder.
The investigation determined that the victim and suspect were related; however the victim was unaware of the suspects identity because his face was covered with a dark pullover mask.
