Man Paddles down Mississippi River for Red Cross
BATON ROUGE (FOX44) - A boy and his father have travelled the mighty Mississippi all the way to Baton Rouge for the Red Cross.
Alex Linnell has been on his paddle board for exactly 64 days, and has just now touched down in the capitol city.
His journey started 2300 miles north in the town of Lake Itasca, Minnesota, and he plans to take it through to the Gulf of Mexico.
Alex said one day he wanted to see if anyone had broken the record, now he's doing it, and doing it for the Red Cross.
"The fact that they work all over the place, and have such involvement with the river itself and the disaster victims down here, you know, obviously they're directly involved and we can really help people." - said Alex
