Man shot while driving car, Sheriff seeking suspect

LAFAYETTE, LA — Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting whereas one victim who was driving on Johnston Street was shot by an occupant of a passing vehicle.

Donald Faul, 24, from Milton is listed in stable condition at a local hospital recovering from a single gunshot wound to the leg. Faul crashed after being shot in the 6800 block of Johnston Street which is nearest Maurice.

There was a passenger in Faul's vehicle who was uninjured.

The incident was reported to Lafayette 911 at 3:08 a.m. on Sunday, March 18.

Deputies are attempting to obtain an accurate description of the suspect's vehicle, as well as a motive for the shooting.

At this time deputies do believe there was some contact between the victim and the suspects but the nature of that contact is not immediately clear.
