Man who drove getaway car in ‘good Samaritan’ shooting pleaded guilty
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — A man accused of shooting a “good Samaritan” trying to help a pregnant woman being robbed at gunpoint pleaded guilty today, Monday, April 9.
Jonathan Murray, 22, pled guilty to three counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Criminal Street Gang Activity. He could spend anywhere between 11 and almost 350 years in prison if convicted.
Prosecutors say Murray didn't shoot anyone, but drove the getaway car.
Charlie Cangelosi was shot in the stomach as he rushed to the rescue of a pregnant woman who was being robbed.
This happened back in November 2011 after the LSU Alabama game.
