HOLLYWOOD HOOKUP (FOX44) – Actor Mel Gibson and his former girlfriend finally ended their bitter custody and financial dispute. Gibson will pay the mother of his 22-month-old daughter $750,000 and get joint custody of the child. The Los Angeles judge also ordered that neither Gibson nor his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva can write books about their acrimonious relationship, which ended in early 2010. Grigorieva had been seeking millions following the bitter breakup that dominated tabloid headlines.
– Rocker Patti Smith and the Kronos Quartet are winners of the Polar Music Prize, an award given in recognition of exceptional achievements. The Kronos Quartet is an American string quartet recognized for revolutionizing the genre. Patti Smith was credited with proving how much poetry there is in rock and roll. During the awards ceremony in Stockholm, Patti Smith said she felt humbled by the honor. "Receiving the prestigious Polar Music Prize is both humbling and inspiring for it fills me with pride yet also with the desire to continue to prove my worth." The Polar Music Prize was founded by the manager of the 1970s group Abba and is named after his record label.
