BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Capitol One and the Junior Achievement program gives tips to kids to help teach them how to manager their money.

It took place at Cortana Mall. It's all part of the Capitol One and Junior Achievement Finance Park! Middle schoolers from Glasgow Middle got a fictional budget, then program workers explained how to distribute money for tranportation, investments, and savings.

Capitol One bankers along with students from LSU and local credit unions want these kids to realize at an early age the value of a dollar. Middle schooler Jalyn Thomas says she's glad she learned it now.

"It's important because what if we get older, and never took the chance to learn things like that and we really wouldn't know how the real world works." - Jalyn Thomas, Glasgow student, said.
