More security for students changing busses
BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - More than forty-thousand students wrapped up their first day in East Baton Rouge Parish public schools on August 10th, and for at least three thousand of them, it takes two bus trips to get there.
That's the number of students who use a transfer sight, to change busses on their way to school.
It’s had problems in the past, and this year, EBR is increasing security at the transfer point.
According to Communications Director Chris Trahan, a Baton Rouge Police officer will team up with Sheriff's deputies, and resource officers to patrol the lot, and get kids safely off one bus, and onto another.
