More than two dozen dogs need saving

Thursday, January 19, 2012 - 4:36pm

BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) — More than two dozen homeless dogs need your help, and soon! The Companion Animal Alliance put out it's Last Chance List. Thirty dogs need to be adopted by Saturday or the shelter will have no choice, but to euthanize them.

Employee say it's something they wish they didn't have to do, but CAA is overcrowded and there's just not enough room for all of the animals.

"They're really waiting and hoping to get back into another permanent home and that's one thing that a lot of people need to realize is there's a lot of really good animals here. It wouldn't be hard to make them a member of the family," says Adoption Program Manager, Derrick Hoenig.

You can adopt a pet for $40. There is also a $200 deposit, but that's returned once the animal is spayed or neutered.

If you want to adopt a pet, you can head over to the shelter or call them at (225) 774-7701.
