BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Saturday was National Car Seat Check Day, and folks were lining up to make their cars safer.
All around the country folks are getting free car seats, and being educated on how to keep their children safe while riding in a car.
At the ARC Early Head start facility, folks were getting life saving lessons and free car seats from Lexlee's kids, the Louisiana Highway Commission, and Louisiana State Police.
They say it's all about making sure kids are safe.
"We definetly want those children to leave here much safer than they arrive and we're seeing that, you know we have people pulling in, and they don't have a car seat, so we're able to get them a car seat, get it installed properly and make sure they're safe. " Trooper Russell Graham said.
