BATON ROUGE (FOX44) - State Police and Blue Cross teamed up saturday for National Drug Take-Back Day.
Red stick residents trickled into State Police Troop A to drop off unused prescription drugs.
Police officers say that these unused drugs are an easy way for juveniles to get "high".
This day came as a follow up to last year, where over 121 tons of pills were collected.
Police officers say that they'll do all they can to keep kids from using these pills.
"Hydrocodone, Loritabs, Xanax, things like that, and they get that from their kitchen cabinets. So we're wanting to get that out of your pantry, out of your cabinet, and get it turned in." said Trooper Russell Graham
