NEW YORK, NY (FOX44) – Family-friendly films, laugh-out-loud comedies, and a new take on country. There's a slew of new music and movies hitting shelves this week.
"Hugo" took home five of its eleven nominations at this year's Academy Awards. Now you can take home Martin Scorsese's film as it kicks off this week's new DVD’s. The tick-tock tale of the orphan Hugo Cabret as he sets out on an adventure after unlocking a clue left by his late father includes extras like commentary by the film's star director.
Also trying to piece together clues in his own unique Intel gathering way, Rowan Atkinson is, “Johnny English Reborn”. Agent MI-7 jumps back into action after learning a Chinese dignitary is in danger. Follow his hijinks and catch even more with extended scenes on the Blu-ray and DVD combo.
A take home for the kids rides in with "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: The Friendship Express" featuring 5-episodes, sing-a-longs, and coloring sheets. Speaking of sing-a-longs, in the music aisle you can celebrate St. Patrick's Day early with Celtic Thunder's new CD and DVD "Voyage."
Grammy-winner Lyle Lovett is currently on the road with 2012 dates and now offers his mix of country, jazz, and more on his latest album "Release Me". Country singer Craig Morgan sends out "This Ole Boy" the title track of which is climbing country radio and the music video for which stars his friend actress Angie Harmon.
And Grammy-winning comedian Ray Stevens sends out an "Encyclopedia of Recorded Comedy Music" a 9-disc box set with 180-comedy songs spanning the sixties through today, all of which he re-recorded and took him over 2-years to do.
