A new law may give elderly inmates a chance a parole if passed
LOUISIANA (FOX44) - One of the most talked about new laws allows older prisoners a chance at parole.
The change was supposed to help relieve some of the burden on over-populated prisons here in Louisiana.
We checked with the Department of Corrections, and only about a dozen inmates are eligible across the entire state.
Here are the rules, inmates must be at least 60 years old, they have to have served ten years already, and no one convicted of a violent crime or a sex crime can apply.
