NEW YORK, NY (FOX44) – Another Dr. Seuss classic and the wildest party of the year hit the big screen. But neither can seem to knock the Navy Seals from the top of the box offices.
The magically bright world of “Dr. Seuss: The Lorax” springs to life in 3D and IMAX with the tale of a forest creature fighting to save his environment and teaching a young boy and girl about theirs. Famous voices include Danny DeVito in the leading Lorax role, Taylor Swift and Zac Efron behind the microphones as the kids at the heart of the story and listen for Betty White too.
It's a less family-friendly outing in the theater next door as the R-rated party shenanigans of "Project X" are unleashed. A party thrown by "The Hangover" producer Todd Phillips who says his shin-dig is a blast because they push the envelope.
But the current #1 movie at the box office is sure to fight to hold onto its top spot, “Act of Valor" starring real life U.S. Navy Seals in a story inspired by their lives. Also, Tyler Perry’s "Good Deeds" grabbed second place last week with its tale of a guy who gives back and gets life-changing surprises in return.
Make room for even more choices at the movies this week.
