AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – New Zealand, out of the destruction caused by last week’s massive earthquake, officials in Christchurch found a copper cylinder believed to contain handwritten documents from the 19th century. It fell out of a cracked statue of the city’s founder. Museum experts think the documents contain a message from him expressing his vision for the city’s future.
Sri Lanka – Two fighter jets clashed in mid-air while they were performing stunts. The military says that one of the pilots died when his parachute malfunctioned after he ejected. The other pilot ejected safely. The pilots were practicing for the Air Force’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.
United States –In suburban Philadelphia a pizza parlor owner is in big trouble. Police say that he tried to sabotage rival restaurants by dumping mice into their shops. "Why would somebody do something like this... are you kidding me?" Police believe that his motive was financial.
Poland – It’s the case of a frozen crocodile. Authorities say they discovered the cold dead critter in a forest and they don’t know how it got that way. Scientists say the dwarf crocodile is very rare in Poland.
