A North Carolina Man tries to flee from police, injuring drivers

ROBERT, LA (FOX44) - Early Sunday morning, Louisiana State Troopers arrested a North Carolina man after he tried to run from police officers.

Troopers say it all happened around 6:00 a.m.

They say it started when a trooper tried to pull over Toby Dillard, 33, on Interstate12.

Police say when the trooper tried to stop him, Dillard took off down I-12. Dillard then continued through Covington speeding through traffic signals and deliberately trying to run other cars off of the road, eventually forcing one off the road, and injuring the driver. The driver was transported to a local hospital, where they're in stable condition.

As Dillard turned off, he lost control of his car, fled on foot, and attempted to car jack another driver before being stopped by Police.

Also Dillard fled, he also tried to throw away a trash bag containing approximately 6 lbs. of Marijuana and 6 oz. of Cocaine.

He's in Washington Parish Jail on multiple charges of Flight, Theft, and Drug Possession.
