NEW YORK, NY (FOX44) – Well look who's graduating, if it isn't the Oscar class of 2012. Smiling for the cameras, members of the 2012 Oscar class are basked in their success, as nominees for the 84th Annual Academy Awards struck a pose for the yearly Oscar luncheon and used it as a chance to catch up with their buddies.
George Clooney says: "I think they think we have, we're always at the Hilton drinking champagne. And the truth is I hadn't seen Brad in about a year, I saw him at the Globes or maybe in Palm Springs just before that, so it's fun to catch up."
Clooney also said: "Viola had her honeymoon at my house in Italy.”
Viola Davis says: "I said George, I’m engaged! And he said oh well I bought a villa! And I’m like wow! And he said you need to go to my villa for your honeymoon and I said, oh my god are you serious?"
They've made some new friends too this year.
Brad Pitt says: "I met this guy named Ge-orge, Gorg, Jor-hay Clooney. He's a very nice guy, very personable, nice guy. Made great friends with Jean and Damian which has been a pleasure."
Some first timers are still trying to wrap their head around it all.
Rooney Mara says: "Everything sort of happened really fast and I feel very honored."
Octavia Spencer says: "I’m an Oscar nominee (sings it) I love saying that whatever happens I’m going to always sing that Oscar nominee part."
Others are getting initiated into the fraternity.
Jonah Hill says: "I have been a victim of this gentlemen's pranks, I call him the Bobby Fischer of pranks. Because you try and prank him and he's immediately 3 moves ahead of you."
For those like Gary Oldman, whose nomination was a long time coming, he's soaking up every minute.
Gary Oldman says: "I’m having the time of my life, I’m having, it's a fairy tale."
And he jokes the acknowledgment may even come in handy in the future when choosing roles.
Oldman also said: "The villains are the ones you do for money (laughs) they are expensive... Well they will be now."
So as they countdown to the Oscars February 26th, one last thing to work on may be those award show cutaway shots since someone finally let George Clooney know he's a go-to.
Clooney says: "They do? Do I make faces?"
