Police looking for man who escaped while in custody

BATON ROUGE, LA. (FOX44) - Sheriff Louis Ackal states that on October 15, 2011 deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Lee M. Fowler for second degree kidnapping, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, open alocohol container and simple escape.

According to witnesses Fowler held a female in his vehicle refusing to let her leave. The female was able to flee the vehicle and run to a nearby residence, Fowler then fled from the area in his vehicle. Deputies were able to locate Fowler's vehicle shortly after the incident occurred traveling on Hwy. 90.

Fowler was then transported to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Center where he was questioned. While he was at the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol center he fled from Officers. Deputies are searching for Fowler at this time.

Fowler,26, is from New Iberia, LA.
