Police seeking identity of robber who stabbed victim

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — An afternoon robbery turned violent yesterday when a man stabbed the victim after demanding money.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1. We’re told the victim was approached by a man who was walking a pit bill. The suspect demanded money, then pulled out a sharp weapon of some sort and slashed the 31 year old victim.

The victim walked to the nearby CATS terminal to get help. He lost a significant amount of blood, but is expected to survive the incident.

Officials say a suspect was detained and questioned, but was released because there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him with the crime.

Detectives say the suspect is described as a black male, 6’2” tall, and roughly 160 pounds.
