Privacy vs. Security at Baton Rouge Airport

BATON ROUGE, LA (WGMB) - Triple A says 40 million Americans are going away for Thanksgiving. Most of them are hitting the roads - but some are flying.

That's where the debate on safety versus privacy continues.

At Baton Rouge Airport - we saw several passengers being patted down by TSA. Body scanners aren't at that airport yet, so any passenger that sets off the metal detector could be patted down. Most passengers we spoke with say the extra layer of security was an issue.

There was one protester outside the airport carrying a sign that read "opt out of naked scans". He says body scans are unconstitutional and are about power, not security.

Nationally - there was a call to opt out of any extra security - that included pat downs and body scanners. But at the bigger airports - we're told there are very few people opting out.
