BATON ROUGE, LA (WGMB) - Credit and debit card fraud costs hundreds of millions of dollars each year. That number spikes around the holidays.
Catherine Kelly has lived in Baton Rouge for over 20 years. She went to the store in mid-November and lost her card. Before she knew it - thieves drained her account. That let to lots of fees - and frustration.
Kelly says in just a week - she was charged almost $800 - and she still doesn't know if - or when she'll get any of her money back.
She says the thieves made her feel helpless during the time of year she's supposed to be most joyful. She goes on to say she's learned to keep a very close eye on her credit and debit cards.
