Rainwater takes part in year-long program for first offense DWI offenders
BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater will take part in a year-long program for DWI offenders instead of standing trial.
Back in December, Rainwater was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Because this is Rainwater's first DWI offense, he qualified for a pre-trial diversion program.
For the first six months, Rainwater will have an ignition interlock device in his car to prevent drinking and driving. He also must attend Mother Against Drunk Driving seminars, driving improvement school, and perform 32 hours of community service.
