Red flag flies to remind people of the burn ban in affect
LOUISIANA (FOX44) - A flag of a different sort is also flying in Baton Rouge on July 4th.
A red flag is being flown every day to serve as a reminder of the state wide burn ban.
That ban was put in place by the State Fire Marshal on June 1st.
The red flag is located outside of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry on Florida Boulevard.
Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain hopes the flag will remind people of how dangerous conditions are right now.
It will remain up each day until the ban is lifted.
