Report: Two Southern athletic programs banned from postseason

Low APR scores to keep 2 Jaguars teams out of postseason

Southern is one of six BCS schools facing academic penalties from the NCAA. Reports say that the Southern University men's basketball and football teams will recieve a postseason ban due to low APR scores.

Academic Progress Rate or APR is a way for the NCAA to indicate the success of college athletic teams in moving student athletes towards graduation.

The results cover the academic years of 2006-07 through 2009-10.
